The Down & Dirty Details
Commitment to the Environment
We live in a beautiful and sensitive environment. All of our guests are required to adhere to our land use guidelines. This ensures that we keep the lake and the forest in the most pristine condition possible, as well as ensuring the safety of all future campers. If this is your first time in the woods, or your first experience with sustainable practices, don't worry - we're happy to help everyone learn about low-impact wilderness camping.
As part of your orientation upon arrival at camp, we will go over these guidelines as a group, but please take a few minutes to review them on our website: https://www.clearlakeecoretreat.com/land-use-guidelines.html
Remote Location
We are a three hour drive from Toronto. We will meet the group at the Lost Channel Marina 2 pm sharp. From there the water taxi will whisk us 3 kms along the scenic Pickerel River, and drop us off at our dock. Your guides for the weekend will lead you through trails in our beautiful old growth forest, and finally a very short (5 min) canoe ride to your secluded camp. You'll be the only campers at the only campsite on the entire lake. It's all yours!
Keeping our remoteness in mind - there are no out trips for provisions. Make sure that you bring all necessities with you. Look here for a packing list.
Meals
Participants are responsible for providing their own food. Our lakefront campsite has a fully equipped outdoor kitchen that includes pots, pans, steel sink, running water, gas stove, fire pit, grills, and all necessary dishes.
Alcohol
Alcoholic beverages are not included in the admission price. BYOB if you wish, but please remember to consume responsibly.
Pets
Although we are usually a dog-friendly retreat, for this event we will not be allowing pets.
Rain or Shine
This event will be running regardless of weather conditions. Please be prepared for the forecasted weather and for the potential of bugs. We will update participants regarding bug conditions prior to their trip.
